I actually got there by accident but the place is magical. There are a few copies of Michaelangelo's sculptures, his wooden crucifix from 1492 and a lot of renaissance chapels. The entrance was free, there were no guards, just a monk sitting by the door and an old man guarding the crucifix. Also, Padre Giuseppe Pagano who was also by the crucifix added a whole lot of a nice aura, greeting everyone with a smile.
I just want to add something to this. I think it is one of the most magical places ive been in the world. I have been here for 4 years. This piazza made me feel so loved. i made family. i experienced happiness, sadness. surprise and all other emotions on this square. people care for you. Again, Such a magical place.
Ehi, allora. No photos allowed inside. So much so that there is a guard walking around making sure you don't. Not sure why they feel it's necessary to prohibit photography, but ok. That said, it's probably the most serene cathedral on the south side of the city. Subtle, beautiful and serene. My happy place in that beautiful old town.
