I invited my relatives for a dinner gathering in this restaurant on July 10 , 2017 at 7 pm. Each of us ordered our dinner. I ordered the special of the day , a 28 oz tomahawk Waigu prime rib eye, medium well. I was hungry and looking forward to enjoy my steak. But the steak came out burnt ; black charred pieces and bits were falling from the steak. I told the waiter that I do not want to eat charcoal . He took the steak in. While my family were finishing their dinners, I was waiting for mine. After a long wait, then something incredible happened. The "assistant manager", Ivy Sarinas, came out with the same burnt steak and told me I "need to" eat it because I ordered it "the way it is". She was not going to do anything about it. She was not giving me my dinner other than the burnt steak I could not believe what I heard . I told her no one can force me to eat a burnt steak. So she did not say a word and took the burnt steak away . she never came back and obviously,I did not have my dinner steak. All this was going on while my family were finishing their dinners. then something even more incredible happened when we got or bill, this "assistant manager " charged us for the burnt steak that I never have. Our waiter , Matt, informed us that the "assistant manager" would not take the burnt steak off our bill. He said he agreed with us but there is nothing he can do so he offered to pay for the burnt steak himself. I wasn't going to let my server to pay for something that is not his fault . After much effort and my insistence , I finally got a corrected bill. The entire eventful situation lasted until 8:34 pm. I left the place hungry on this unhappy evening dinner gathering in this "high end restaurant". Was the cost of a burnt steak more important than treating their customers like customers? I have to say this restaurant do think so.

Because the hotel did not have room service, we went to their restaurant our first evening in Honolulu. I wasn't expecting much, but man was I surprised at what a fabulous restaurant this was. It's at the top of the hotel with windows all around to give you beautiful views. The wait staff were very courteous and attentive. The food was amazing. My husband and I both had seafood, and it was top quality. The wine list gave us plenty of options. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it.
