When you walk into Fraunces Tavern, you're transported to another era. Each room has its own character and definition of pure comfort. The dining room provides a peaceful place to eat and chat, while the various bar rooms respectively will cater to the level of rowdy you're feeling as the night progresses. You can order food (which is superb) in any of these rooms. Come with a group, or come alone. The friendly bartenders aren't too busy to chat with you. If you don't come on a night when live music is playing, the crackling of one of the many fireplaces will serenade. Speaking of fireplaces, if you can only make it here once during the winter months, come during Christmas. Even Scrooge could locate his Christmas spirit here.
