St. Basil's Cathedral

Surely the most iconic sight of Moscow; who wouldn't recognize the classic onion shaped domes in their lively colors. A definite must-see for everyone.

Fantastic, and well worth a visit both inside and outside. I may be slightly biased as I've wanted to see this place in person since I was 9, but wow, it was amazing. Photos do not do St. Basil's justice, the artworks and icons should really be seen first hand. Admission for adults was 350 roubles when I went (August 2016). It's open every day until 7pm, and looks magical in the sunset, so I'd recommend visiting later in the evening (you'll also avoid a lot of the crowds then). The steps up to the second floor are very steep and narrow, so maybe not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Photography is allowed inside, but they do ask you to switch flashes off.
