Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is located in the northern suburbs of Chengdu, about 10 kilometers away from downtown Chengdu. The facility is famous for the protection and breeding of endangered wild animals that are unique to China. It simulates the natural habitat of the giant pandas, and has lakes, streams, bamboo forests and lawns. The chance to come into close contact with the giant pandas is a highlight here. Visitors can have a close-up observation of the pandas' living conditions. There is also a "Panda Villa", which is a restricted area for the pandas to rest.

Tips add

1.The best timing to see the panda bears is before 9:30 in the morning, especially during the summer season because during noon time, the panda bears tend to retreat into their resting areas to cool down and sleep. 2. Please be aware that when you are near the breeding enclosure of the panda bears, you must not emit any loud/sharp sounds or make any unusual movements as this will unnecessarily agitate them. 3. You are not allowed to use flashlights during photo taking as the eyes of baby panda bears are particularly light sensitive.4. Do take note that you are not to feed the panda bears or to take away the bamboo shoots from their enclosure.5. The daily amount of food given to each individual bear is scheduled and planned.
