How cute is the name Pitted Date. This place is owned by a Canadian and offers brunch breakfast vegan fare. We loved the variety they offered. The vegan Bomblette and and the roasted tomato soup was our favourite (my daughter didn't even realize it was vegan). The decor is cute and modern, I highly highly recommend this place

Yes! If you are looking for a great vegan spot.. this is definitely the place to go in Playa. It was delicious and the matacha latte was amazing. The guacamole was out of this world. The people here are friendly and it was definitely worth every penny.

Incredible breakfast food. Be cool if they were more overtly ethical / sustainable Edit: Response to owner: I mean, for many veganism is about sustainability and ethics, there didn't appear to be any information in the cafe about where the produce came from, efforts to reduce waste, support local initiatives and local workers etc (perhaps I missed it). Predominantly non-Mexican staff. This is not a criticism as such, just something that would make it more attractive to me personally.

Playa del Carmen definitely has a food hidden gems for vegans and this place is one of the best. We went here for breakfast one morning as we read about their vegan eggs. I had an omelette and my husband had the bagel sandwich. They were both absolutely amazing! We have definitely not had vegan eggs like this before. They had a lot of options for breakfast, smoothies, coffee drinks, and feesh squeezed juices that were definitely reasonably priced. Well worth the short trek from our hotel!

Run don't walk to The Pitted Date!! This cafe is perfect for anyone who would like a break from the salty greasy American food which is very prevalent in the area and at resorts. The Vegan egg is a mixture of chickpea flour, tofu and turmeric and it's incredible. I had the spinach omelette, which had a generous serving of greens and fruit which was very fresh and local just as described. The papaya was perfect, unlike what is served at our resort. They serve all dishes with their house made habanero mango sauce and chipotle sauce- both are incredibly flavorful and not too spicy. I am so pleased that I got to experience authentic Mexican flavors in vegan food on this trip.
