One week after impeccable food and service and I have already recommended Bacaro to two people for upcoming visits to Barcelona. I visited Barcelona with my significant other with a recommendation to eat at Bacaro. I made this a birthday dinner to celebrate her, and upon catching wind of the occasion, the restarant manager opened a bottle of champagne with a knife! It would be hard to find a more memorable way to honor her day. The location is ideal with a famous open-air market next door. The place is popular and the staff treat customers as part of their family. You may reserve a table in advance. The wild boar pasta and calamari salad were exotic, perfectly executed and modestly priced. I can't wait to see the staff in Barcelona again. The service was far above expectations.

Fantastic service that was incredibly friendly. They let me in a few minutes early even before they opened for lunch, as they saw I was traveling with my suitcase. I was initially a bit hesitant, since I wanted to have food in the Mercat de la Boqueria but didn't have time to wait in line. I don't regret coming here at all. The restaurant itself is cozy and has a bit of rustic charm. The pastas are homemade and have a great mouthfeel to them. The appetizer I had was only okay for me, but that's a personal preference, as I'm not a huge fan of sardines (but wanted to be open-minded). If you're in the mood for Italian pasta on your visit to Spain, I can easily recommend Bacaro.

This place gets three stars as it is not reflected by many reviews online. The place is very small and down quite a dark alley, once inside the feel of the place is less warm that expected with quite quick and forced service. The decor is also quite cheap and not well executed at all. The food however is very good and of course this should be the most important factor. A small menu, (which I would consider a good thing,) with some very tasty dishes.
