My girlfriend and I thought this place looked nice to grab some lunch and a drink while walking down Las Ramblas. The location was great and ideal for watching the world go by. Although it took a while, the waiter eventually offered us menus (prices were quite expensive but not unexpected considering the location) and took our order. He seemed very aggressive at first but softened slightly, going as far to ask me "if I would like some bread and ham" before my tagliatelle. Knowing that of course this would be an extra charge, I thought why not - I'm on vacation! The drinks were large measures and presented in nice glasses which made us forgive the earlier attitude of the waiter, However, when lunch arrived, my girlfriend's order was wrong to which she advised the waiter. His response was simply "is that not what your ordered?" I didn't like this statement as why else would we mention it? This wasn't a case of lost-in-translation (the waiter's English was good) as the meal that came was completely different. However, for an easy life, my girlfriend accepted the meal. For all intents and purposes, the meals were OK. Nothing special but they hit the spot, albeit far more expensive than what you would pay for the equivalent in another location. The part that angered us most was when we asked for the bill. The waiter initially just told us the final price, before printing off a receipt from his handheld device and placing it under my girlfriend's glass so as to make it appear out of sight. The waiter then stood waiting for payment there and then. My girlfriend looked at the bill and was immediately drawn to the charge for the supplemental "bread and ham" - 18 EUR!!! This was more than the price of my main dish alone! I don’t think I was unreasonable in thinking I had been ripped off here! When challenged, the waiter simply said, "you had the menu in front of you when I asked if you wanted it and could have checked the price - I forced nothing on you". An absolutely shocking attitude, made even worse by the fact he had actually taken away the menus during the order process before asking the question! We considered refusing payment for the bread and ham but didn't want any trouble with the police, considering the fact we were tourists, - a fact the waiter could easily exploit. When I advised (again, firmly and constructively without losing my temper) that I felt we had been severely ripped off and he had taken advantage of us, his response was "I'm sorry but now you know for next time!" What we wished to be nice lunch in Las Ramblas had now soured our day, Needless to say, I would advise (and have done!) people to stay clear of this place when visiting Las Ramblas. Terrible service and sees tourists coming!

All they care about is having more money from the people sitting. U need to eat and drink this is what the waiter told us ( unless a group of people are sitting to drink beer) The food is not good at all. We tried the pizza, Octopus Salad, Caneloni. I can say they were the worst ever.
