A fantastic dining experience hidden away in the Hotel Arts/Ritz Carlton. World class food, incredibly knowledgeable staff and none of the stuffiness that often accompanies high end restaurants.

Very nice decor and amazing service, good wine selection and superb desert. The starter was interesting. The main course was a bit too fishy lacking flavour and imagination.

Fantastic service but really uncomfortable seats which amazed us that someone signed off on them, design over comfort. We had the tasting menu and while very tasty and interesting felt it was fish heavy and the same wine was paired with two different dishes on three occasions, meaning its not a direct pair match. Each dish should have its own wine surely. Could learn from Casamia and Gidleigh Park in the UK. Nice waiters etc though.

The service and meal seemed incredibly rushed. Spending that kind of money I wanted to savour and enjoy the moment. The first course and paired wine was served before I had even been served the cocktail I ordered. The first couple of courses the plates where taken incredibly quickly and on the third course I hadn't even finished my meal and the waiter went to take my plate, which made me have to say something. Maybe the tasting menu has too many courses that take too much time, if this is the case then I think they should take a couple of courses off so that service can be slowed down. The meal itself I felt was more style over substance with lots of gimmicky cooking techniques that if the food isn't spectacular then these seem pointless and more care should be taken to achieve an unforgettable tasting experience rather than something pushing cooking boundaries. I think attention should be paid to the former before the latter. The service felt a little nervous. I'm not too sure what clientele they get in there, I'm on the whole extremely calm and laid back, speak to the waiters and tried my best to relax them. I even gave a pep talk to one of the trainee waiters who had his first front of house service that night just to say it's only dinner so relax. This tension came from the senior members of staff who where all very young, maybe an older, calmer senior member of staff was needed to maintain standards yet give a relaxed unhurried service. All in all though it was a nice experience.
