First of all, it should be noted that this restaurant is known for the beauty of the space as well as quality of the food. More than half of the experience comes from//is made by sitting in their stunning main hall. We had made a reservation for four to assure ourselves a table there, and when we arrived were told that we were being seated in their balcony because they had overbooked their main hall with customers who had arrived earlier but had not made reservations. When we asked if there was any possibility to be moved to the main hall, as we had made a reservation to assure ourselves a table there, the host was not only unwilling to accommodate us but furthermore he and a waiter proceeded to be incredibly rude. They were unwilling to recognize or admit the mistake they had made in seating us at such a poorly located table after having made a reservation with more than enough advanced notice. As regular customers who (were at the top of the reservation list) this was disheartening and disappointing. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Was told by my wife to come here. I loved the food, the ambience and the service. And the price was not exorbitant. Outstanding value.

Appetizers were good. Overall simple style and tasteful for a reasonable price. Mille feuille looked some what less but tasted fine. The chicken as main course was overcooked. Please be aware the main roast beef dish will be served cold. Tuna was fair. Good deserts.

This place is a great find on the ground level of a hotel in the Gothic Quarter. Fantastic food - fresh and delicious - and a great value all around. We shared the paella and grilled baby squid, and for dessert the Catalan custard (basically the region's version of creme brulee with more flavour than the typical custard), and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Wine by the bottle is also extremely inexpensive. It was easy to get a table around 730-8pm, but by the time we were finishing up, the place was packed with what seemed like mostly locals (always a good sign). A perfect way to end off our trip in Barcelona.
