Walked in without reservations and was seated pretty quickly at a table with other friendly folks. The chef was lively and got to know everyone at the table. That portions of food is not even or equal to what you pay. I guess you pay for the experience. Drinks were good especially the house Mai Thai.

Simply awesome. Service guy Jeff and chef Joe teamed up well to make this meal a more than memorable one. It's our first time in Honolulu and also a first visit to Tanaka. But were truly impressed with Chef Joe's cooking show and quality. No less a true veteran of 12 years under his belt. Ask for Chef Joe when you visit and he will not disappoint. Now we have something to take back with us on our long haul trek back to our Lion City. Thank you Tanaka. Thank you Chef Joe!

The food was AMAZING and our chef was very funny and his knife skills were entertaining. Our waitress was very attentive and frequently attended to our drinks and rice bowls. The food was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. The general environment was very homey and comfortable. Overall, it was an outstanding experience and I would gladly go again!
