Great price. To those of you not from San Francisco rent is not $100 a month. Go to the TL for east bay prices. It’s a great sandwich for $12.

This is a great place to grab Asian food in the Ferry Building. Also Out the Door is a much more affordable option than The Slanted Door. The lemon grass chicken with rice is my favorite. The curry chicken is also very good. The food is good, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable.

If you want to splurge for lunch go to Out the Door - your tastebuds will thank you, although your wallet might not. Try the lemongrass chicken or pork with rice. I've yet to try the sandwiches or buns, but plan on it. Service is usually quick and you'll be in and out in 10 minutes or so. I haven't eaten at Slanted Door yet but have high hopes for the food given the great flavors I've tasted here.

Sad to say their meat with sticky rice (my former favorite), tastes of MSG and/or chicken powder. So disappointing.

Overpriced Vietnamese food for sure - I paid $18 for their daily LUNCH lemongrass chicken rice special. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, flavorful, and fresh and I understand the rent must be crazy high to run a business at the market building. But at least include a little something, like a small salad or app to make it feel more valuable. The ingredients itself doesn't cost much and could be prepped in advance. Either way, the people were nice and it seemed like they had a great teamwork system going on. Hope they reconsider their menu pricing for returning customers!

On one hand, reading all the reviews about "overpriced for Vietnamese food" leaves me thinking a lot of people don't understand the basic economics of running a restaurant in a place like The Ferry Building, versus running one out of a hole in the wall in the Tenderloin. On the other hand, unfortunately I've seen the quality and consistency slip over the past year or so, and today's take-out lunch was a disaster. Room temperature unseasoned pork in place of the usual "lemongrass pork". It was basically inedible.

Just as other reviewers pointed out, this place is too over-priced, especially given how mediocre the food is. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food, or Asian food to be precise, this could be one of the worst. On the top of that, the service was really not that great. I had a reservation with my friend, but she showed up late. While I was waiting there, I asked one of the waitress if they have wifi, her snobbish and unfriendly attitude was very unnecessary. Maybe she thought I was some random person who was just trying to get free internet? Anyway, I would not recommend this place.
