To it's credit the Temple and Temple Square grounds (in addition to the city block they illegally bought from a corrupt Mayor Dee Dee) are immaculate, beautiful, ethereal, and generally pleasant to visit. The downside here is major. The Church Security and other operatives actively pursue any person or persons on the grounds who might be in violation of Church doctrine or moral edicts. A same sex couple holding hands, a person wearing summertime cloths like short shirts, or tank tops, someone enjoying a vape, or even using words that the Church has demonized or banned, including Constitutionally protected speech. So, go knowing there is a dress, behavior, and moral code enforced here and you will enjoy yourself a lot more. At Christmas time they have a spectacular lighting display along with concerts by the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. NOTE: visitors are not allowed inside the actual Temple itself. You may only gain admittance to the sanctified building through the ordained church processes and achievements. When a new temple is built they do open it to the public just before it is blessed and consecrated.

If you have friends from out of state, this is a lovely place to bring them. Free tours are offered along with beautiful gardens to enjoy. During the Christmas season, there are also beautiful lights displayed in the evenings.
