A very cosy restaurant serving innovative catalan cuisine

Cinc Sentits did not live up to expectations. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but everything just felt a bit lackluster. The service was pretty cold, and the food was largely uninspired. I'd give the restaurant a solid 3, but am docking it 1 star, because I think the 1-Michelin star was undeserved and overly-inflated expectations. This was our menu: 1) Amuse bouche: 3 layer shot of Canadian maple syrup and sea salt, cream, and cava Cabernet 2) Tapas a) Olives 2 ways - liquified in hard shell and warmed b) Baby clams with secret sauce c) Smoked anchovies d) Iberian ham e) Tuna on potato f) Roasted vegetables on toast with olive oil bubbles 3) Prawns, almonds, and fresh vegetables in peach gazpacho 4) Red mullet cooked in a special bag with lemon and thyme, served on watercress puree, fermented garlic, and carmelized onion 5) Carmelized foie gras 6) White mushroom callenoli with celery root cream and egg yolk sauce 7) Smoked steak (served strangly at slightly below room temperature - not great) and oxtail croquette and wheat cracker with tomato dust. Paired with a peeled tomato 8) White chocolate with berries 9) Pistachio cake, apricot mousse, apricot ice cream, and caramelized popcorn 10) Chantilly chocolate mousse, hazelnut truffle, and Catalan cracker

Amazing food. Fantastic service. And as for the chef...My favorite restaurant in Barcelona.
