St Augustine's Episcopal Church

A beautiful yet haunting church that is the home of the Slave Galleries - the segregated places of worship for the African Americans.

The Place is very spacious and I had my Daughter's Sweet 16 here!! Let me be the first to say that we made it work---If it weren't for my event coordinator I don't know how the place would have looked. The walls were dirty, the paint was chipped, the kitchen was under construction. I literally had my guests over--100 people in the place and there was a guy sanding a wall we had to remove the food from the kitchen area to prevent exposure. then the refrigerator's were not working at all. I had to spend an additional $45 on ice to keep the drinks I had cold, there were no garbage bags either.. THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK WELL EITHER AND THEY ONLY HAD 2 FANS OF WHICH ONLY ONE WAS IN WORKING ORDER. on top of that it is now 3 weeks past my event and they have yet to issue me my deposit. The people here personified themselves as warm and friendly but in actuality were not at all.. They are rude and not very Christian like.. they speak of morals but where is the morality in taking my 2000 for a hall that was not even in the nearest proximity what you described it to be. I am disappointed as a single parent and mother of 3 children.. I worked very hard to get that money and give it to them to have them do that to me. I am making a claim against them with the Better Business Bureau so that no one will ever have to be subjected to that. its a disgrace.
