Palenque - Campeche

Zona Arqueologica de Palenque Visit of the Palenque archaeological site. Palenque ruins are considered to be the most important archaeological sites of the Maya in Mexico. The ancient city is located among the overgrown jungle on a high hills. In the early morning ruins shrouded in thick fog, beside flows a small stream, you can often hear the roar of a jaguar or monkey - howler. Its most important temple is called Templo de las Inscripciones (Temple of the Inscriptions), where explorers discovered Pakal’s tomb with his famous jade mask.
