Our tour gives an in-depth overview of the life of Dr. King Jr. from his formative years as a youth growing up on historic “Sweet Auburn” Ave, once called the richest Negro street in the world, to his impact as a leader in the Civil Rights Movement. Hear the stories that helped shape his character. You’ll gain insight into Atlanta’s history as well as other movers and shakers such as the city’s first Black Millionaire, on through the struggles of the Jim Crow era. Ebenezer Baptist Church Begin in front of Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church with a brief of history of the formation of Atlanta, the Civil War, reconstruction and Jim Crow.

Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site As the walk continues learn “Daddy Kings” background and how the family became associated with original Ebenezer Baptist Church. Along the way we visit Freedom Hall and see exhibits on Dr. King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King. We see The Reflecting Pool and tombs of Dr. and Mrs. King, Jr.

Spend time in front of the birth home of Martin Luther King, Jr. learning about the economic, social and religious background in which he grew up.
