Pinacoteca di Brera The Pinacoteca di Brera is one of the most prestigious museums in Italy, and it houses a number of paintings from the 16th to 18th century. . One of the most famous paintings is a Caravaggio painting entitled The Taking of Christ. The painting was commissioned by a patron of the artist, Vittorio Emmanuele II, who would later also become king in 1796.
