You will meet your host Cinthia at her home and drive to the Mercado El Eden market together. The market is bright, colorful and bustling with activity. Cinthia will introduce you to seasonal Peruvian ingredients, some of which will be very new to you. She will teach you all about these local ingredients and how they are used in Peruvian cuisine. You will also learn about the history behind the country's diverse cooking styles as you pick up a few ingredients you will learn to cook with later.
After the market tour, you will join Cinthia and a few other family members in her large, open kitchen that is perfect for a hands-on cooking class! Discover traditional Peruvian culture and cuisine as you learn to prepare an authentic Peruvian meal with this local and her family. You will learn to prepare two Peruvian dishes from scratch that you will later share at the family's dining table.
