Qasr Al-Harranah

Quseir Amra
Qusayr Amra was probably built between 730 - 740 AD, commissioned by Prince Walid Ibn Yazid. The extensive fresco paintings of the bath building and reception hall are unique for Islamic architecture of the Umayyad period.

The castle was built of local dark basalt and controlled the trade route passing here. It is a square structure with powerful walls and towers with a large courtyard. In the middle is a small mosque of the Umayyad era.
