Hassan II Mosque

Hassan Tower
Hassan Tower is a special Moroccan and Spanish style of architecture at the same time. The minaret was projected to be the largest of its type of all time around the world, yet – unfortunately – the construction processes stopped suddenly following the sudden death of al-Mansur in 1199.

Most of the remains of the Kasbah date back to the 12th century. The Oudaya Kasbah was initially built within the 12th century and in spite of the fact that it has been devastated a few times, it was rebuilt once more. During the time of the Alawites, the Kasbah saw a few improvements such as the development of the Amiri Royal residence, and a few military establishments played an imperative part in ensuring the Kasbah. Numerous offices of the Kasbah, particularly the court and the prison, played an essential part all through history.

Meknes
Meknes is one of the imperial cities of Morocco and was the capital during the 17th century. You’ll see the famous gate of Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Souani, and the Mouly Ismail mausoleum.

The Roman ruins of Volubilis where you can tour the ruins and mosaics and learn about the Roman occupation and culture in North Africa that date back to the 2nd century B.C.

Exploring Fez

Medina of Fez
After breakfast in your riad, our local guide will take you on a journey into the oldest medina in Morocco that dates back to the 9th century.
You’ll explore the narrow winding cobblestone streets of the medina, where donkeys are the main mode of transportation.
Your tour will include historical sites of the medina, including the University of Al Karaouine, the oldest university in the world started in 851 by a woman (Fatima Fhriya), the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Nejjarine fountains, the famous (and odiferous) tanneries, as well as the King’s Palace, the Jewish quarter where, if you like, you can visit a synagogue in the Mellah. Lunch will be in the medina.
The tour ends around 4 p.m. at your accommodations.

Ifrane
Ifrane is a city located in the mountains of the Middle Atlas in Morocco, named also the little Switzerland of Morocco because of its unique peached roof buildings. It is renowned for its Alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes and forests.

Azrou Cedar Forest
Cedar Forest of Azrou where, with luck, you could see some Barbary apes that you can feed by your own hand. Truck drivers also throw food out of their windows as they passed sometimes.
Tourists and local visitors love to stop by for some selfie pictures with these cute creatures.

Erg Chebbi
Erg Chebbi, known also as the dunes of Merzouga, is one of the two great ergs of the Sahara in Morocco. The spectacular golden dunes of Erg Chebbi are among the most remarkable in the Sahara. Some peak at 250 m in height.

EXPLORING THE DESERT

Erg Chebbi
you can explore Merzouga and see how the villagers irrigate their crops in an oasis.
Then it’s on to the village of Khamlia, known as the home of the “black people” who were brought to Morocco as slaves decades ago.
You’ll be treated to a performance of their unique Gnawa music and have lunch in the village.
Return to your riad for a rest before heading out on camels into the Sahara Desert where you will become more than just a tourist.

EXPLORING MARRAKECH

Medina of Marrakesh
After breakfast, our local guide will take you through some of the historical sites of “The Red City,” including the Bahia Palace, the Saadienne tombs, Jamaa Lafna Square, and Ben Youssef Madrasa. Walking through the souks, you’ll enjoy the sights, sounds, and bright colors of the market. The city tour ends around 3 p.m. Then it’s on to the new part of Marrakech and the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, created by Yves St. Laurent, before heading back to your accommodations.
After sundown, we suggest you walk to Jamaa el Fna, the main square in the old city, that comes alive with snake charmers, storytellers, merchants, and tourists enjoying the sights and sounds of Marrakech.

DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA

Essaouira
After breakfast at your riad, you’ll leave for Essaouira and Mogador, the City of Wind where surfers from all over the world come to enjoy their favorite sport.
Along the way, we’ll drive through the land of argan, the only place in the world where Argan trees grow. You can visit one of the women’s cooperatives to see how the argan oil is made, by hand, the old-fashioned way.
When we arrive in Essaouira you’ll have time to explore this blue and white city on the Atlantic Ocean, where, for centuries, many different cultures lived side-by-side.
Enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants before we head back to your accommodation in Marrakech
