Drive uphill on winding roads to the renowned Tizi Ntichka pass before arriving at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the day's first important tourist stop. Ait Ben Haddou, a Berber walled town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned as a location for big Hollywood epics. The village was utilized to film the films Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator, to mention a few. After breakfast at your accommodation in the Todgha Gorges, we travel to Rissani, renowned for its dates market and as the beginning point of the ancient caravans that traversed the Sahara desert to Tombouctou. After a brief pause, we will continue driving to Merzouga across stony desert terrain.
