Cabo da Roca
The westernmost point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca.
Historical records point to the existence of a fort in Cabo da Roca in the century AD. XVII which played an important role in guarding the entry of Lisbon, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. Currently there are only traces, besides the lighthouse which continues to be an important point for navigation.
It is part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and is one of the reasons of interest for the pedestrian trails that can be made along the coast here.
Duration: 30 minutes
