Luis I Bridge
This iron bridge, built between 1881 and 1886, is an icon of Porto. Designed by Théophile Seyrig, a former collaborator of Gustave Eiffel, the bridge connects Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Crossing the Douro River, it offers spectacular views of the banks of both cities, both from its upper deck (pedestrian and metro) and from the lower deck (road and pedestrian).

Ponte Infante Dom Henrique
Named in honour of Prince Henry the Navigator, born in Porto, this is the most recent bridge connecting Porto and Gaia. It was built to replace the upper deck of the Luís I Bridge, which was later converted for use by the "Yellow Line" (Hospital de São João/Santo Ovídio) of the Porto Metro.
