Jardins do Palacio de Cristal
19th century Romantic Garden. One of the Porto's best-loved escapes. Fountains, peacocks, magnolias, camellias and the most breathtaking views over the river Douro.

Torre dos Clerigos
Clérigos Tower has marked Porto city's skyline for more than 250 years. In mid-18th century was one of the highest towers in Europe. In the same building, the Church is magnificent and we will visit it free (10minutes).

Antiga Cadeia da Relacao
This building, commissioned in 1765, is a unique example of the judicial/prison architecture of the Old Regime.
The grandiose building is nowadays the Portuguese Center of Photography.

Avenida Dos Aliados
From the bottom of Praça da Liberdade, we will admire the Town Hall and the Avenue of Allies. Open in 1915, this avenue estalished the connection between the Historic Centre and the new town.

Mercado do Bolhao
One of the most iconic buildings in Porto, the market Bolhão reopened in 2023, after a demanding restoration and modernization work to welcome traders, customers and visitors.

Praca da Batalha
At the southern end of Santa Catarina Street (where the finest Majestic Cafe is undoubtedly a must-see), we find the Teatro Nacional S. João, the Santo Ildefonso Church and the Cinema Batalha, all at Praça da Batalha.
This leads us back to the bohemian 19th century vibrant square.

At the heart of Porto's shopping district, it is a pleasant area to browse for shops.
We will admire Majestic Cafe from the exterior.

Igreja e Museu de Sao Francisco do Porto
It was (along with the convent) the grandest religious building of Porto. Inside is a profusion of intricate woodcarvings and excessively adorned altars.

Built between 1956 and 1963, becoming the first Douro bridge to be entirely made by the Portuguese engineering, in this case a project by the engineer Edgar Cardoso.

Jardim do Passeio Alegre
After the bustling Cantareira, we will pass the Lighthouse of São Miguel-o-Anjo and we will reach the Jardim do Passeio Alegre, one of the most beautiful gardens in Porto. It has a lovely and bucolic name and it has existed here for just over 150 years.
