We started the hike in the Tierra Mayor Valley, and through native forests and peatlands we reached the famous Emerald Lagoon. Here first stop after a 1 tour, where we will brake a few minutes to contemplate such beautiful scenery.
After the lagoon the climb begins, we move away from the forest area and start climbing over stone terrain, this is the most demanding part as the climb is maintained for about 3 hours.
Continuing along the trail and passing through unusual orange walls, we reach a natural balcony where you can see Laguna Esmeralda below and in the distance.
From this point remains the last climb. Depending on the time of year here we will have a few steps where we will use our hands, wear a helmet and the right equipment.
The guide will always be attentive accompanying the group.
We're here! After 41⁄2 hours of constant and intense pace, we are surprised by the front wall of the glacier with its 20 meters of wall, its green melting lagoon and its unique environment. In this trekking, the reward of effort is assured. In winter the lagoon freezes and is covered in snow, so you can walk to the ice wall.
