We run a small studio within our residential apartment in Mumbai where we conduct a two-part guided tour.
The first part of the guided tour involves taking guests through the private collection of dolls, masks, and figurines. About 300 of these pieces are on display at the Studio. We talk about the historical, geographical, social, and cultural significance of the pieces and craft forms. We also talk about folk stories, legends, indigenous tribes, and textiles and share interesting anecdotes from our travels. Crafts form an intrinsic component of culture and given India's diverse heritage, this tour touches upon history, art, cultural norms, traditions, and beliefs.
The second part is a walkthrough of drawings on different themes - from motherhood to the explosiveness of the mind, isolation experienced during the recent pandemic, and drawings inspired by our travels through rural pockets of the country.
Our collection has been lauded by PM Narendra Modi's Office.
