I love Pilsen! I lived and studied there for three years and I would like to share the best of it with you. We'll visit St. Bartholomew's Cathedral together. When you enter it, you will be breathless and just look at the beauty in silence.
If you want, you can climb the tower - on foot, 300 steps - I highly recommend it, it's worth it. Then we'll go to the brewery museum and the historical underground. We'll have lunch and beer and then drive to the Pilsner Urquell brewery.
There we will have the highlight of the day! A tour of the brewery, exhibition and cellars where you will taste the best beer in the world. At the end we will visit a souvenir shop and drive back to Prague. Be prepared to walk at least 3 miles.

St Bartholomew's Cathedral
We'll take a look at the newly renovated gothic cathedral, optionaly you can climb the tower (over 300 steps). The construction of the church dedicated to the patron saint of Pilsen, St. Bartholomew, began with the foundation of the town (1295) and was completed in the early 16th century. In 1993, when Pope John Paul II established a diocese in Plzeň, the Church of St. Bartholomew became a cathedral. Free entry to the church, entrance to the tower is paid (90 CZK). Opening times: working days 10am-6pm, weekends and holidays 1pm-6pm. (alternatively it is possible to visit the synagogue, admission fee applies).

Brewery Museum in Pilsen
The brewery museum is in a unique 15th century brewery house. You will learn a lot about the history of beer production. A printed guide and mobile app are available. We will join the tour at 11:20. Admission 289 CZK (combined with underground tour).

Pilsen's medieval underground is 19 km long. It was used to store food and ice and to make beer. There were 360 wells. The tour includes a waterworks from the 16th century. Beware, it's cold (42F). Admission included in the combined ticket.

We will have lunch at one of the brewery restaurants, where you can redeem a free beer voucher that you get at the museum. They cook typical Czech food, but also international cuisine. We will have only 1 hour for lunch, because we have the best part - the brewery tour. Lunch is not included in the price of the trip.

Pilsner Urquell Brewery
The highlight of the day! We'll go on a brewery tour where you'll see the brewing technology, an exhibit about beer production and the cellars where you'll get to taste the best beer in the world. At the end there is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. We will join the tour at 2:30pm. Admission 380 CZK.
