Valley of the Kings
Your journey through Luxor's rich history begins with our tour guide picking you up from your Luxor hotel. We'll embark on a Luxor day tour to explore the Theban necropolis on the west bank of the Nile. Here, you'll uncover the mysteries of the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of the New Kingdom Pharaohs (1550 – 1080 BC). Carved into the mountainside, this burial ground contains 64 tombs, with the earliest belonging to Queen Hatshepsut's father, Tuthmosis I (1506–1493 BC). If you desire, you can also visit the tomb of King Tutankhamun for an additional fee during this 2-hour exploration.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
Next, we'll journey to the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut. This temple is a marvel, built across three terraces, seamlessly blending with the imposing cliffs of the Theban mountains. Originally, an avenue of sphinxes led to the Nile, with myrrh trees gracing the temple's entrance. Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to rule Egypt as a pharaoh, is portrayed in masculine form, donning a pharaoh's kilt and beard. Additionally, on the West Bank, you'll encounter the two Colossi of Memnon, towering twenty meters high, serving as the sole remnants of Amenophis III's funerary temple.
