Since 2005, this archaeological site has hosted the Jazz au Chellah festival every year, and since 2012, it has been part of all the Rabat sites inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list as cultural property.
After major restoration work, the Chellah site was reopened to the public on May 20, 2024 and offers a new audio-guided tour circuit.
