Yanagimori Shrine
The shrine was also the setting for an anime called Steins; Gate. This shrine worships a very rare tanuki. Although tanuki is an animal, in Japanese it is the same Japanese word for "overtaking others. Therefore, people who want to succeed in something secretly come to this shrine. Although it is not a large shrine located in the middle of a group of buildings, you will feel the sacred atmosphere when you enter this space.

mAAch ecute Kanda Manseibashi
This March Ecute is the oldest building in Akihabara. It was built in the Meiji Period (1912), and the platform on the 2nd floor has been renovated to allow visitors to enjoy the passing JR Chuo Line (or stay in the café-restaurant, as the case may be). The staircase to the second floor has been left as it was in 1912, and on the large monitor there you can see the transition of Akihabara from the Edo Period to the present day, with pictures. The cool air in this concrete space may make you feel as if you have stepped back in time.

Akihabara
The previous locations were places in Akihabara where one could feel the historical background of the area. From here, we will take you to places where you can experience the otaku culture of anime, games, and manga that Akihabara is known for. This area is more than 8 blocks from the Akihabara Electric Town Exit. Everywhere you look, you will see anime, manga, and game characters. It is here in Akihabara that a mysterious space flows as if you have come to another world.

Kanda Myoujin Shrine
Kanda Myojin is the largest shrine in Tokyo. Walking through the large Torii gate, one feels a space that one would not expect to find in Tokyo. The large expanse of the sky gives a sense of openness, but this is still a shrine and a sanctuary. You can feel the sacred air, but there is nothing scary about it. However, you will feel a pleasant sense of tension. There is a souvenir corner and some books written in English about Japanese shrines and Shinto. Of course, you can also buy goods such as Goshuin books and beckoning cats!

Akihabara Gigo
Japanese arcade culture is unique to Japan, with UFO catchers (craw clanes), fighting games, music games, quiz games, purikura (photo booths where you can process photos taken on the spot into stickers), racing games, and shooting games.
It is exciting and captivating, so much so that you will lose track of time.
On the 6th floor of GIGO, you will find a retro arcade, which is probably the only place in Japan where you can play so many old machines.
You can feel the history of Japanese arcades in this place, and you will be fascinated by the world of dot-pictures.

Do you feel cheap anywhere in Akihabara for otaku goods? That would be true too. Buying in Japan is inevitably cheaper than buying in your country. But don't be satisfied with just that. You will feel like you are on a treasure hunt here, and if you find what you want it will be the best souvenir. It will be a masterpiece and an irreplaceable memory of your trip to Japan.

I want to buy some anime goods as a memory of my visit to Akihabara. If so, go to this G-store first. This store offers many T-shirts, which is rare even in Akihabara. They also sell cosplay items, so if you want to buy cosplay items as well, this is the place to go. It's not easy to pack souvenirs in your luggage. But the T-shirts are easy to pack and make good souvenirs!

Retro games are already out of production and finding them is very difficult. But this Super Potato is a store that deals only with retro games, and you will feel like a kid again when you see a lot of NES, SNES, and PS1 game softwares.
The store is divided into 3 floors: 3F is mainly for Nintendo, 4F is mainly for PS, and 5F is the arcade section for retro games. Also on the 5th floor you can buy DAGASHI (cheap snacks that Japanese kids eat), which is unique to Japan.
