Along the way, you’ll pass by the impressive archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, and Pucapucara. Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo Ollantaytambo, 2:20 p.m. After lunch, we'll follow the scenic Urubamba River to the ancient Inca town of Ollantaytambo, a key strategic site that guarded the entrance to the road to Machu Picchu. Discover the fascinating history of this fortress, where dramatic events unfolded during the Spanish invasion, as your guide brings its past to life. From here, we’ll escort you to the nearby train station, where you can board your chosen train—either the standard train or the luxurious Vistadome 360° panoramic train. This 1-hour, 45-minute journey offers breathtaking views of the Andean landscape as you approach the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.

Aguas Calientes You will arrive at the Machu Picchu entryway in Aguas Calientes. Arriving in Aguas Calientes at 6:10 PM, our staff will welcome you at the train station and walk you to your hotel for a seamless check-in. Once settled in, savor the day and evening on your own; explore the little town or unwind before your big day at Machu Picchu. Evening activities provide total flexibility because they are at your own pace.

Guided Machu Picchu Tour with Afternoon Return to Cusco

Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu After breakfast at the hotel, our guide will take you to the bus station for a ride to Machu Picchu's main gate. Here, your unforgettable journey begins. Your expert guide will take you through these remarkable ruins' ancient streets, city squares, and stone staircases. Known as the new spiritual center of the world, Machu Picchu offers a chance to explore and reflect. Once the guided tour concludes, you'll have additional time to explore on your own. After your visit, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch (not included). 2:00 PM: Return to Ollantaytambo. At the indicated time, board the train back to Ollantaytambo train station, where your journey continues.

Ollantaytambo Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our transport will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. The estimated arrival time in Cusco is 6:00 PM, allowing you to relax and reflect on your unforgettable day at Machu Picchu.
