Head out into the open fields of the countryside and our first stop is a sugarcane plantation where you’ll learn about the island’s all-important industry used for making rum. There’ll be a fruit and coffee tasting session at a country home, alongside a chance to see how Dominican cigars are made at a rolling factory.
And if you’ve booked the full day option, you’ll also enjoy a Higuey city walking tour with entry to the famous Altagracia Basilica, a buffet lunch of local dishes, and a stop at Macao beach to swim, sunbathe and recharge.

At a nearby farm, get matched up with a mellow horse and enjoy a thrilling ride through open fields before visiting a sugar cane plantation where oxen are still used to extract sugar used for rum.
Recharge as you're led into a typical Dominican home for a tasty array of fresh fruit and delicious coffee sure to warm up your appetite for a buffet-style lunch at a nearby ranch.
After your scrumptious meal, find out how renowned Dominican cigars are made at a local rolling factory and then wind your day to a close on the golden sands of Playa Macao. Go for a swim, lounge on the beach, or stroll the shore for seashells before grabbing a ride back to your hotel.
