Walk in lava fields and hike an old volcano!
Join us on an adventurous hike close to Reykjavík to one of Iceland´s most well known mountains, Mt. Keilir. The mountain can easily be seen from airplane when flying to and from Keflavik airport.
We head to Mt. Keilir and drive through the lava fields in the Reykjanes peninsula.
The hike starts with a 45 min walk towards the mountain before ascending its steep slopes. The view from the top is absolutely amazing and you will of course sign the guestbook located at the top.
Your guide drives you back to the pick up spot.

Itinerary

A local guide will take you on an adventurous hike up to Mount Keilir, the signature mountain of the Reykjanes peninsula. You will experience lava fields, moss, an amazing view and mindfulness on this tour as well as stories from our guide.
We drive to the Reykjanes peninsula and walk in lava fields to the roots of the mountain. After a short break, we hike to the top where we enjoy rewarding views over the Reykjanes peninsula, the newest mountains in Iceland from the Fagradalsfjall eruption, see over the whole capital area and sign the guestbook at the top!
The final part of the hike is challenging, involving loose gravel and steep mountain hill.
