Itinerary
1
St. Peter's Basilica St. Peter's Basilica is the largest Christian temple in the world and an important spiritual symbol for Catholics, as it was erected over the tomb of St. Peter the Apostle (the first Pope in history) who was martyred in Rome and whose remains rest in the inside it.

Duration:  20 minutes

2
Fontana di Trevi The Trevi Fountain is one of the largest monuments in Rome and therefore one of the most visited places in the city. The reason is simple: it is the most beautiful fountain in the world. Its history dates back to the time of Emperor Augustus, when this fountain formed the final stretch of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct built in the 1st century BC. However, the current fountain dates back to the 17th century and was commissioned by Pope Clement XII to the architect Nicola Salvi, who surprised everyone with this allegory of the ocean presided over by the god Neptune.

Duration:  20 minutes

3
Pantheon The Pantheon of Agrippa is one of the best monuments in Rome to visit, being the best preserved building from Ancient Rome. This was possible because at the beginning of the 7th century Pope Bonifacio IV transformed it into a church dedicated to Christians martyred during the persecutions.

Duration:  20 minutes

4
Castel Sant'Angelo On the right bank of the Tiber, a short distance from the Vatican, is Castel Sant'Angelo. A 2nd century AD fortress which Emperor Hadrian designed as his family's mausoleum, but which ended up becoming a military building and a papal residence used in times of turbulence. It was said that until the surrender of Castel Sant'Angelo no one could claim to be the conqueror of Rome.

Duration:  20 minutes

5
Complesso del Vittoriano Popularly known as "Vittoriale", the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II is a colossal white marble construction erected to honor the nation and the monarch after the reunification of Italy. Curiously, the Romans did not initially like the monument because they felt that its size and style did not fit the environment of Piazza Venezia. Today, however, it is one of the most popular monuments among visitors to Rome. It houses the Central Museum of the Risorgimento, the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the eternal flame shines in homage to those who fell for the country. Note: We will not enter the Vittoriano complex.

Duration:  20 minutes

6
Trinita dei Monti Even if it is not a real monument, with its 138 steps the eighteenth-century Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti is one of the main tourist attractions of Rome. It connects Piazza di Spagna, where the Spanish embassy to the Holy See was already located in the 1600s, to the French church of Trinità dei Monti, from which you can enjoy a fabulous view over the rooftops of Rome.

Duration:  20 minutes

7
Terrazza del Gianicolo Image result for janiculum roma The Gianicolo, considered the eighth hill of Rome, is a pleasant place to walk, enjoying the extraordinary views of the city. The Gianicolo became very popular for the important historical role it played in the defense of the city.

Duration:  20 minutes

8
Piazza Navona Piazza Navona is one of the most famous monumental squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family at the behest of Pope Innocent X (Giovanni Battista Pamphili) with the typical shape of an ancient stadium. Note: the remaining time is for the round trip and a possible stop for a coffee.
