Yanque
Yanque, 7 km west of Chivay, has the most beautiful and lively main square as well as a beautiful church (at least its exterior), the Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción, whose ornate Baroque door has an almost Churrigueresque look (an elaborate and intricate Spanish style). Local children, dressed in traditional costume, dance to music in the main square most mornings around 7am in exchange for a few coins from tourists on their way to the Cruz del Cóndor.
Duration: 20 minutes

The 'Cruz del Cóndor' viewpoint is the most visited of the many viewpoints deployed along the Colca Canyon. The reason is the spectacle of the 'flight of the condor': several Andean condors flying over the place very close to the visitors. Of course, some luck is required for the condors to fly over at the right time and at the best distance. The viewpoint is more crowded in the mornings when, although it does not always happen, the condors prefer to fly over the site.
