Join us as the Christmas ghosts lead us around the capital to discover the real locations where the novelist worked, walked and drew inspiration - from the grandeur of the Inns of Court to the dismal and overcrowded slums.

Lincoln's Inn Fields We'll meet at the Sir John Soane Museum in Lincoln's Inn Fields. We won't go into the museum, but we will visit a number of sites in the square relevant to Charles Dickens, including the house of his biographer John Forster.

Royal Courts of Justice At the back of the Courts and their surrounding streets, we will explore Dickens' relationship with Law, his work at the Inns of Court and his criticism of the English Legal system.

Seven Dials We'll explore the Seven Dials neighborhood, part of the parish of St Giles, one of the poorest and most overcrowded slums in the 19th century. See the site of a Victorian workhouse and a lodging house where residents slept leaning on a rope. All inspiration for themes and characters in Dickens' novels.
