Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

Marrakech
We will start from Marrakech before 8:00 am, to drive to Ait Ben Haddou, Pass through some Berber towns of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi n’Tichka pass.

Ait Ben Haddou
we will stop at the famous Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The Kasbah has one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Thousand Kasbahs and is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. We will have our lunch at the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dadés Gorge via Ouarzazate-

Drive to Ouarzazate, also known as “Gateway to the Sahara”, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

On our way through the “road to the Thousand Kasbahs” & the fascinating “sand castles”, we will stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city” known for its roses and annual rose festival during the month of May. Then we will continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dadés Gorges.

Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes

After morning breakfast, we will explore the sites around Dades Valley and Todra Gorges

Merzouga Desert
Merzouga will be the final destination of 2nd. From there, camels will take us to our Berber desert camp via the Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our stay will be at the desert camp that includes accommodation, evening meal & next day morning breakfast in traditional Berber tent.

Erg Chebbi Dunes
Today starts in the early morning to watch the magic sunrise behind the dunes. the color is changing while sun rises up.
After breakfast you will start exploring the Merzouga desert and dunes of Erg Chebbi in a 4×4 SUV. The adventure 4WD excursion will take you to visit Merzouga oasis. And its traditional irrigation system. Furthermore, you will go to discover Khamlia village also called Black Town. ( Most of the inhabitants are dark-skinned people. they have immigrated from Sudan and Maly. and lived in Morocco as slaves 100 years ago). They will show you their culture of Gnawa music.

Fez Mellah
After breakfast you will leave Merzouga and drive to Fez, passing different places along the way: Rissani, Arfoud, Ziz Valley, and crossing Tizi n'Talghomt bends, through the Atlas Mountains. You will stop and have lunch in Medilt (which is optional). Then you will see the Cedar forest of Azrou (which is famous for its aromatic cedar trees) stop there for a few minutes to see the Barbary macaque monkeys and take some pictures. After Azrou forest we will pass through Ifran which known as the "Moroccan Switzerland". On arrival in Fez, our crew will lead you to your riad/hotel.
