Arrival day

Lisbon
Our trip begins with a transfer from Lisbon to Serra de Sintra. Our hotel will be a pleasant and comfortable inn, where our hikers will spend the night for the next four days.
The Unexpected Gardens
1
Sintra
On this approximately 6-hour tour, you will explore two notable gardens, Capuchos and Montserrate, which are home to secrets and mysteries. Montserrat, with its magnificent palace, is one of the most famous "Victorian" gardens in Europe, set in a stunning romantic landscape.
Before enjoying a picnic in the gardens of Montserrat, you will walk along a pleasant tree-lined path of around 7 km, connecting these two stunning locations. The return route, although shorter, is equally captivating, with the warm light of the end of the day illuminating the forest and reflecting on the calm waters of the "Lagoa dos Musketeers".
There is also an exciting optional experience: a visit to one of Portugal's oldest wine regions. Explore the vineyards and wineries in Carcavelos, where you will have the opportunity to taste three high-quality wines inside the original wine cellar, a 19th-century building commissioned by the Marquês de Pombal.
The Mountain of Secular Mysteries
1
Parques De Sintra-Monte Da Lua
Come with us to discover the most mystical and hidden side of the Serra de Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, considered the most beautiful and mystical of Portuguese greenhouses. On this tour, we will get to know its people and their customs. We will take you to the highest points of the Serra, such as the Peninha sanctuary, and you will be amazed by the endless views. We will discover its secrets and mysteries. We will go to the most typical village in Sintra, whose origins date back to the 16th century, the village of "Espírito Santo". Known for its countless fountains and streams, here we will have lunch in a rural tavern where we can enjoy the local cuisine. After the meal, passing by some horse breeding farms, we will again enter a forest corridor towards the Capuchos convent, where we will end our tour.

“Where the land ends and the sea begins”

Parques De Sintra-Monte Da Lua
The tour starts at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe, where "the land ends and the sea begins". The old fishermen's path takes us to admire the untouched beauty of Praia da Ursa. As we follow the majestic cliffs across the Atlantic Ocean, we arrive at Fojo, a natural well that challenges the bravest to descend 90 meters. Continuing on, we stop at the stunning Praia da Adraga and then transport ourselves back 130 million years to find dinosaur footprints from the Early Cretaceous period. Alternatively, the day can end in Europe's westernmost vineyard, where wines of character age between the Atlantic and the Serra de Sintra. Enjoy a tasting of remarkable wines, known for their saline notes, fragrance and balance. Please note that if you choose the wine experience, bring your own picnic. The tour starts at 10am, lasts approximately 4 hours, is of moderate difficulty and is not suitable for children under 12 years old.
