DAY 1: MARRAKECH –IMI OUGHLAD –TIZI N'TACHTE –TIZIANE

Marrakech
We offer a 5-day Atlas trekking experience in Marrakech, which includes a visit to the Berber villages. The trek begins with a departure from your hotel to Imi Oughlad, where you will meet the Berber muleteer crew.

We will start the trek by heading in a north-westerly direction for an approximately 2-hour acclimatization hike up switchback mule tracks. As we hike up, we will pass by cornfields, pine and juniper woods until we reach Tiz n'tachete (2000m). At this point, we will take a break to look back down on the Imlikl and Ait Oussaden valleys before continuing for another half an hour to Imi n'ifri, where we will enjoy our field picnic.

Afterward, we will hike slowly for about 2 and a half hours in a south-west direction along a dirt track to Assif n'Ait Oussaden and the red clay terraced village of Tiziane (1750m). This is where we will be spending the night in either our bivouac or gite accommodation.

DAY 2: TIZZIANE – TIZI N'TAGHRHOURTE – D'KNT

After breakfast, we will embark on our hike up the Assif n'Ait Oussaden Valley, passing through walnut groves and ascending to Tizi n'taghrhourte (1995m).

High Atlas Mountains
From there, we will continue through a rare, almost flat stretch to arrive at Assaka spring, where we will enjoy our field picnic in the midst of the awe-inspiring silence. This relatively easy walking stretch will take us approximately 2 and a half hours.
In the afternoon, we will continue our hike along the edges of the forest until we reach the Berber village of D'knt (1870m) or Agouns n Assoul. This is where we will have dinner and spend the night in either our bivouac or gite accommodation.

DAY 3: D'KNT – TIZI N'TAGDALTE – TIZI OUSSEM

High Atlas Mountains
We embarked on a three-hour morning hike through walnut groves, fields of corn and barley to meet with the local sheep and goat herders. Our journey took us over the Tizi n'tagdalte pass and down amongst the juniper trees until we reached a picturesque spring surrounded by trees. Here, we paused for a refreshing picnic before continuing our descent along winding tracks on the upper slopes for another three hours until we arrived at a small river at the beginning of the Assif n'Ait oussaden Valley.

Tizi Oussem
From there, we made our way into the village of Tizi Oussem (1850m) and then up to the summer village of Tamsoult, where we set up camp or stayed in a gite.

DAY 4: TIZI OUSSEM - TIZI M'ZZIK - IMLIL

We will embark on a trek to a charming small waterfall located at Azib Tamsoulte before making our way back to cross the Tizi 'n Mzik pass, which stands at an elevation of 2,500m. As we descend, we will enter the main Toubkal Valley, eventually arriving at the village of Imlil (1,800m). Here, we will enjoy a delicious lunch and spend the night at the welcoming Guesthouse Riad Atlas Prestige.

DAY 5: IMLIL – TIZI N TAMATERT – IKKISS – AGERSIOUAL - MARRAKECH

Tamatert
Starting from Imlil (1,740m), you will head east along the Tamatert Valley before turning north and crossing the Tizi n'Tamatert pass (2,300m). After this, you will make your way down to the Berber village of Tinerhourhine, before continuing along the Imenane Valley. This valley will lead you northward, as you follow winding mule trails through almond, walnut, and apple groves, and terraced Berber hamlets. Your journey will take you to the villages of Ikiss and Amssakrou, where you will pause for a delightful picnic lunch with a stunning view of the peak of Jbel Oukaïmeden (3,268m) and the two passes - Tizi n'Ou Arg (2,258m) and Tizi n'Tiratene (2,268m).

Marrakech
On your return journey, you will head in a westerly direction, crossing the Tizi n'Aguerssiouâl pass, and then following the Assif n'Ait Mizane Valley all the way back to Imlil. This trek is an excellent opportunity to witness the natural beauty of the region while immersing yourself in Berber culture.
