We weren't far from the city, but as we travelled further, the skyscrapers and urban development gradually disappeared and were replaced by the High Atlas Mountains and some douars built on their slopes.

The Tizi-n-Tichka, standing tall at 2260 meters, is the second-highest summit in Morocco, second only to Toubkal. As we journey through this beautiful road, we are blessed with breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains, leading us to the ancient Moroccan palace of Ait Benhaddou Ksar.

El Kelaa M'gouna
We have just completed our visit to Ouarzazate, a charming city known for being a world-class film studio. But the highlight of our trip is yet to come, as we are on our way to the Valley of Roses. This place is not just a nickname but a given name because the people of this area earn their living by growing roses and extracting oils, perfumes, and cosmetics using traditional natural methods that ensure safety standards and provide better results compared to their counterparts that are made from manufactured materials.

Dades Gorges
Wow, these rocks are remarkable! Our driver told us they're called the "toes of monkeys". Upon closer inspection, we realized that the rocks are shaped like fingers, but they're too big to belong to monkeys. They must be the fingers of giant gorillas! We're taking a quick break before continuing our journey to Hotel Dades, about 26 kilometers away.
We're looking forward to dinner and our first night in the hotel. Overnight At a traditional Kasbah in Dades Gorges

Perhaps this is the best region in Morocco for observing a variety of desert bird species, such as desert sparrows, Egyptian nightjars, desert warblers, fulvous babblers, and Blue-cheeked bee-eaters - all of which are worth seeing, even if it's just to put a face to their unique names. Occasionally, during the spring season, a shallow lake emerges northwest of Merzouga, which attracts flocks of flamingos and other water birds.
