Depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel along the Wine Route R62

R 62 nel Klein Karoo Traveling along the R62 Wine Route in South Africa is a fantastic way to explore some of the country's most picturesque landscapes and sample delicious wines. The R62 Wine Route runs through the Western Cape and is known for its charming towns, vineyards, and stunning scenery. The route encompass the towns of Montagu, Barrydale, Ladismith, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn and De Rust.

Knysna We travel further until we reach Knysna where we will base for the next 3 days as we explore the Western Cape Garden Route area. With so many things to see and do in Knysna it is one of the top holiday destinations in the Garden Route, South Africa. Families making memories, adventure seekers find their thrill with a variety of outdoor experiences, and affordable luxury and exclusive activities await the discerning traveller. Discover the sandy beaches and forest trails, explore the area and rich cultural heritage, and experience what makes Knysna one of the not-to-be-missed locations in the Western Cape.

Depart after breakfast and head to Addo Elephant National Park

Addo Elephant National Park At Addo Elephant National Park we do a game drive. Addo Elephant National Park is the third largest game reserve in the country after recent incorporation of further adjoining land. The South African game reserve is famous among tourist for its large elephant herds that graze on the vegetation and parade in a calm manner. You can witness these marvellous creatures by simply travelling to one of the waterholes, which is a hot spot for elephants. The game reserve is also famous for viewing the Big 5.

Bloukrans Bridge From Addo Elephant National Park we head off to Bloukrans Bungy, on the Bloukrans Bridge, the highest in the world at 216metres. At this place you can also do a sky walk at an optional cost. From Bloukrans Bridge we depart to Knysna where we spend the night.

On day 3 we visit Robberg Nature Reserve, beaches in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna Heads & Quays Knysna Waterfront

Robberg Nature Reserve We go for hiking at Robberg Nature Reserve, one of the most beautiful in South Africa. Robberg, situated 8km south of Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route, is not only a nature reserve, but also a World Heritage Site. Rocks from this region date back 120 million years to the break-up of Gondwanaland and evidence of middle and later Stone Age inhabitation has been found in a few of the caves along the peninsula.

Plettenberg Bay We visit some of the best beaches in Plettenberg Bay. Central and Lookout beaches are pristine stretches of white sand, magnets for tourists, seagulls and dolphins, who bob playfully just off shore.

Knysna Heads From Plettenberg Bay we travel back to Knysna to the Knysna Heads. It's amazing, stop at first below the heads and walk around the walkways to the rocks, where the Indian Ocean breaks in. Enjoy the power of the ocean. The Heads are a natural mystic in Knysna. The Atlantic Ocean shows it power pushing through. On top you have a amazing view over the ocean and the lagoon. This view is a must see!

The Waterfront Knysna Quays Here we come just for relaxation. You can go on a sunset cruise boat, optional fee. A beautiful waterfront the yachts are stunning in the dock. Amazing watching the boats traveling in and out of the Quays. Great location, always feels great, stunning views and just a happy space with awesome stores and restaurants.

Day 4 our final day we depart from Knysna after breakfast and head to Hermanus, then Benguela Wine Estate & to BettyBay

Hermanus We arrive in Hermanus and do a brief tour of this beautiful town. In season we also go for Whale watching at one of the viewing points. Stretched along a narrow ribbon of land between towering mountains and a spectacular shoreline, Hermanus is surrounded by nature in her grandest style. First established as a farming community, this sunny well-located town remains a popular holiday hub. Sitting on the edge of Walker Bay, this small coastal town offers a bewitching array of experiences. Whales and Great White Sharks, the most diverse Floral Kingdom in the world, mountain walks and unspoilt beaches, secluded forests, crashing surf, lagoons and a hidden valley so beautiful it’s named ‘Heaven and Earth.

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate We taste 5 different top wines here. Engulfed by ocean facing vineyards of 2.6km, grown at the lowest altitude only 2.7m above sea level Benguela Cove Wine Estate has terroirs that many winegrowers would like. A unique location and optimum climate conditions, Benguela Cove Wine Estate, without a doubt has the ideal terroirs for viticulture. Here, at their estates, wine is grown and produced in house to win hearts all around the world.

Betty's Bay BETTY'S BAY | The Stony Point land-based penguin colony, operated by CapeNature, is the third-largest breeding colony of African Penguins in the world and has been showing a measurable increase in breeding pairs. Here we see the endangered African Penguins. From Betty's Bay we proceed to Cape Town traveling on the Whale Coast Route.
