an exciting journey in the sky, suspended from the steel cable, you will admire a spectacular panorama of the Neapolitan gulf and the whole interland of the villages on the slopes of Vesuvius

Monte Faito From the square of the cableway we walk on the ridge of the mountain. We observe, from the top of Monte Faito, Vesuvius which dominates the Sarno plain. Leaving the ridge, you plunge into the centuries-old beech forest. Wrapped in an atmosphere suspended in time, we continue towards the "Neviere" area where tall beech trees surround particular pits. These are natural pits where in the not very distant past, the snow that fell in winter crammed. In this way it was well preserved in the coolness of the beech trees. The snow cut into blocks was then transported downstream in hot weather. The snow industry ended at the beginning of the twentieth century, but still the beech trees show the signs.
