Marrakech Your day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech will begin with a trip to the Haouz plains to the town of Chichaoua, where you will stop for coffee before continuing to Sidi Mokhtar. Along the way, you will cross the argan forest, where you will see goats climbing argan trees. Discover how argan oil (also called liquid gold or Moroccan oil) is extracted, visit a local women's cooperative and discover how some fine cosmetic products are made locally from rich argan oil. From there, we will continue our day trip to Essaouira and its arrival; You can explore the beautiful city with pleasure: From experience, we can say that exploring Essaouira by your own means is easy: the inhabitants are very friendly, the medina is quite small (compared to other ancient Moroccan cities) and its streets are in order. You certainly don't need a guide to visit the city. If you insist on getting one, your driver will help you hire a local tour guide. In Essaouira, you will visit the old Portuguese Casbah Secala, from there, explore the port and see the fishermen on the boats that sell fresh fish and seafood. After that, you will pass through the famous place Moulay el Hassan to enter the old medina, discover the narrow streets and visit many art galleries. Then, enjoy a fish lunch at a local restaurant or return to the port to pick up your fresh fish and cook it at a small local restaurant. At the end of the afternoon, return to Marrakech and your day trip to Essaouira will end with your return to your hotel or your riad.
