Old Royal Naval College We pass by this UNESCO site - the most dramatically sited architectural and landscape ensemble in. Europe. founded in the 19th century this was the training establishment for naval officers until 1998. It is now a joint services college

Cutty Sark See the Cutty Sark the last surviving tea clipper built at the end of the golden age of sailing before steam ships became the norm. It was one of the fastest of its type and gave its name to Cutty Sark Whisky. The maximum logged speed for Cutty Sark was 17.5 knots (20.1 mph). Her greatest recorded distance in noon to noon sights was 363 nautical miles. She has one of the slimmest hulls which is why she was so fast.

Greenwich Park Walk through the Royal Park and marvel at nature's beauty and history. Be enthralled and enraptured by the richness of this glorious location. Greenwich Park is a former hunting park in Greenwich and one of the largest single green spaces in south-east London. One of the Royal Parks of London, and the first to be enclosed (in 1433), it covers 180 acres) and is part of the Greenwich World Heritage Site.

The basis of longitude, the meridian first used in 1851, was adopted as the world's Prime Meridian at the International Meridian Conference at Washington, DC, on 22 October 1884 With one foot in the East and one foot in the West you will be able to say you have the whole world underneath for your feet

Royal Observatory Greenwich The observatory was commissioned in 1675 by King Charles II. John Flamsteed as the first Astronomer Royal. The building was completed in the summer of 1676.The building was often called "Flamsteed House", in reference to its first occupant.
