This immersive culture tour is organised over 2 days by road from Delhi. The experience commences with a drama at the international border between India and Pakistan. You will witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony is about closing of the gates and the lowering of the flags of both the countries. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the most famous Sikh temple, Sri Harimandir Sahib which is popularly called the Golden Temple.

We will also visit a langar or public kitchen of the Gurudwara. The langar here serves free hot meals daily to 50000-100000 people.

Wagah Border between India and Pakistan

Wagah Border 6 AM– Depart from Delhi and drive to Amritsar to reach by 2PM 3 PM– Drama at the border between India and Pakistan We leave for Wagah Border the boundary between India Pakistan. We will get to see the closing of the India-Pakistan border gate in the evening. The Beating Retreat Ceremony is about closing of the gates and the lowering of the flags of both the countries. We will witness soldiers from both Indian and Pakistani march towards the gates and after the gates are open, they salute each other. The ceremony concludes with the soldiers returning to the border line for a handshake. The bugle blow brings an end to this spectacular border drama.

Golden Temple

Golden Temple The Golden Temple tour takes us to Sri Harimandir Sahib which is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. The temple follows a unique Sikh architecture. The fact that it is built at a level lower than the surrounding lands, teaches the lesson of egalitarianism and humility. The four entrances of this holy shrine from all four directions, signify that people belonging to every walk of life are equally welcome. After the Golden Temple tour, we will also visit a langar or public kitchen of the Gurudwara. The langar here serves free hot meals daily to 50000-100000 people.

We will visit the site of the most barbarous act by the British during the colonial time. On April 13, 1919, 20,000 people comprising Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in answer to Mahatma Gandhi’s call for public non-violent protest against the Rowlatt Act. General Dyer marched to the venue with 50 soldiers and fired 1600 rounds and killed thousands of peaceful protestors. 1PM-Depart from Amritsar and drive to Delhi 830PM- Arrive in Delhi
