Ouzoud means "the act of grinding grain" in Berber. This seems to be confirmed by the frequent mills in the region. The bottom of the falls is accessible through a shaded path of olive trees. At the summit of the falls, there are a dozen old small mills that are still in use.

Cascades d'Ouzoud Spend a day at the Ouzoud waterfalls located in the Middle Atlas. Enjoy the freshness in the shade of olive trees and discover the waterfalls of the Oued El Abid river. The Ouzoud waterfalls are the most impressive waterfalls in North Africa. They are 110 meters high and are located in the province of Tanaghmeilt, 150 kilometers from Marrakech, in the Atlas mountain range. The walk near the waterfalls is really very beautiful; you can approach the waterfalls from both sides while contemplating the flora and fauna of the region. Do not be surprised to see monkeys that are very numerous there. The more intrepid can opt for a swim in the river, the water is very clean although its temperature is not very high
