What To Expect
Your day begins early in Cusco, where you'll meet your guide and fellow adventurers. After a safety orientation, you'll board a comfortable vehicle to drive to Chinchaypucjio, the starting point of your Death Road Tour. Situated at 3,700 m (12,420 ft), Chinchaypucjio offers stunning views of the surrounding Andes and is the perfect spot to begin your descent.
As you descend from Chinchaypucjio, the paved road leads to the infamous Huallpachaca Road, a narrow, winding dirt road with cliffs on one side and a dry valley. Known as the world's most dangerous road, this tour section is thrilling and awe-inspiring.
After a few hours of downhill riding, you'll reach a more tranquil area where you'll stop for a well-deserved break. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring a variety of local dishes to refuel your energy. It is also an excellent opportunity to relax, enjoy the stunning surroundings, and share stories with fellow riders.
Finally, you'll arrive at the end of Death Road, where a vehicle will wait to take you back to Cusco City. On the return journey, you will have time to reflect on the day's adventure, relax, and enjoy the ride back to the city.
