Corinth Canal
The Canal connects the Aegean with the Ionian Seas, and Peloponnese with the rest of Greece. The construction of the Canal begun in 1882by a French Company, stopped in 1889 because the company went bankrupt and comlpeted in 1893 by the Greeks. It's 63km long, 23m wide and 8m deep.

Tip: The idea of building a Canal through the Isthmus of Corinth was conceived by the tyrant Periander in the 6th century BC

The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus
Epidaurus named after Epidauros, son of Apollo and inhabited since Neolithic times. The archaeological site of Epidaurus includes the ancient theatre which was built at the end of the 4th century BC to host religious ceremonial events in honor of god Asclepius and it’s famous worldwide for its symmetry and acoustics while it’s really impressive that it has a capacity of 12000 seats which have inscriptions with the names of donors.
The visitor can also see the most famous sanctuary of Asclepius, which was visited from all over Greece by those seeking for treatment. Asclepius was a mythical hero-doctor, son of Apollo, who learned medicine from the centaur Chiron. The doric temple of Asclepius contained the ivory and gold statue of Asclepius. Behind Ascleipion is Tholos, a circular mysterious building, with excellent carved decoration. Beneath the Tholos floor was a labyrinth where lived the sacred snakes of Asclepius.
You will also see a big altar for sacrifices, the Sacred well whose water had therapeutic properties and uses for the healing process, the Stadium, the Odeon, the Propylon, the Katagogeion Hotel (hostelry with 160 rooms) and the Enkoimeterion (the dormitory where was discovered a well filled with inscribed tablets describing miraculous cures).
Near the archaeological site of Epidaurus is the Acropolis where was discovered a small theatre with a capacity of 2000 seats, which was built in the 4thcentury BC in honor of the god Dionysus.
Don’t miss to visit the archaeological museum of Epidaurus where hosts among the others exhibits, entablatures of the temple of Asclepius and Artemis and the statue of the God Asclepius.

Archaeological Site Mycenae
The kingdom of Agamemnon, is situated in the region of Argolis between two conical hills, Profitis Iias and Sana. Mycenae has influenced European art and literature for more than a thousand years and was one the major centers of greek civilization.
The ancient city was surrounded by gigantic
walls, known as Cyclopean walls while the most famous spot is the Lion Gate, which was the entrance to the town with two female lions above.
The archaeological site also includes the tomb of the house of Atreus, , the Palace, the cemetery and the acropolis.
Don’t miss to visit the archaeological museum of Mycenae where numerous golden artifacts as Atreus death mask are hosted

Pyramid, also known as Pyramid of Kechraie is situated at the south-eastern edge of Argolida near Erasinos river and was constructed at the end of the 4th century BC. It was considered as a burial monument or a small fort capable of hosting a small guard.
The admission for the site is free and it’s always accessible to the public.

It’s one of the most beautiful towns in Greece and known as the most romantic city. It was the first capital of newly born Greek state after the Revolution of 1821.
According to myths, Nafplion was founded by Nafplios, son of god Poseidon.
What to see:
-In the center of the city you will see the Syntagma Square with a lot of important and historical buildings
-The medieval old town with the neoclassical mansions and picturesque streets
-The Palamidi Castle with the 999 steps carved into rock. In the Castle the famous General of Greek Revolution Theodoros Kolokotronis had been imprisoned.
-Acronafplia, where the ancient acropolis was situated.
-Bourtzi, the famous small fortress on the rocky islet of Agioi Theodoroi
-The War Museum
-The church of Agios Spyridonas, in front of which the Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias was assassinated.
-The church of Agios Georgios which hosts a copy of the famous Leonardo Da Vinci work “The secret Dinner”.
-The square of the Three Admirals which is dedicated to the memory of the admirals: Kodrington of England; Derigny of France and Hayden of Russia, who fought the Turko-Egyptian fleet in the sea battle of Navarone on the 8th October 1827.
