The caves of the monastery are unique underground man-made systems. The Near and the Far Caves of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve are underground monuments of architecture, archaeology, history, and culture. They were dug in the high Dnipro hills between 5 and 15 meters deep.
